Henry, Alexander
Fur trader, was the second son of Alexander Henry, the elder, the author of Travels and Adventures. He was born after 1785 and became a clerk in the Northwest Company. He was killed at Fort Nelson, on the Liard River, in the Mackenzie river department, either at the end of 1812 or the beginning of 1813.

Low, James
James Low, M. D., was born at Albany, December 9, 1781. His early education was completed at Union College in 1802. He commenced the study of medicine with Dr. McClelland, and after three years spent with him, he went to Edinburgh, where he spent four years, attending the lectures of the University. During a part of the time he was a private pupil of Dr. John Murray, late eminent lecturer on chemistry. Dr. Low's standing among his fellow students, may be estimated from the fact that he was elected one of the Presidents of the Royal Physical Society of Edinburgh. Dr. Low traveled in England and Scotland, and returned to his native city in 1808, commencing practice with Dr. McClelland. He then became a member of the Medical Society of the County of Albany.

Mills, Joseph L.
Born November 3, 1781 in Norfolk, Connecticut; Died January 18, 1841 in Becket, Massachusetts. He was the pastor of a church in Becket.

Van Buren, Peter
Born April 14, 1773, A.B. Union College 1802; was a member of the Philomathean Society; studied under Livingston, licensed, 1804; Charlestown, 1st NY, 1805-14. Union Village and Schodack, NY, 1814-20. Died March 13, 1828.

Van Der Lyn, Henry
Born April 21, 1784 in Kingston, NY. After pursuing his studies at Kingston Academy, he went to Union College where he graduated in 1802. He was a member of the Philomathean Society. Soon after he studied law under Ogden Edwards in New York, securing him admission to the bar in 1806. He practiced law in Chenango County, where he became a prominent equity lawyer. He was known as “the Count”.

Van Horne, Abraham D.
Another lawyer who spent a few years in Utica was Abraham D. Van Horne, a native of Montgomery County, who pursued his studies with Joseph Kirkland at New Hartford, and then began practice in Utica as the Partner of A.M. Walton. In July 1807 he was made-village attorney, but resigned in October, and returned to New Hartford to join his preceptor, In 1814, he was a member of assembly from Madison County, and in 1821 he died at London, Ohio.

Yates, John Barentse
A representative from New York; born in Schenectady, NY; born February 1, 1784; completed preparatory studies and graduated from Union College in 1802; studied law; served in War of 1812 under General Wade Hampton on the northern frontier, and was later aide-de-camp to Governor Tompkins, elected as a Democrat to the Fourteenth Congress; aided materially in the construction of the Welland Canal; judge of Madison County for many years; member of the state assembly in 1836; died in Chittenango, NY, July 11, 1836.
