Biographical Information

Lawyer and Congressman, born at Charlton, Saratoga County, New York, on March 26, 1784. Graduated Union College in 1803; studied law at Albany; was admitted to the bar in 1807, and began to practice in Ballston, New York, becoming justice of the peace in 1808, and subsequently state commissioner of loans. Died September 8, 1854.
