Abstract
There has been a remarkable explosion in the number of publications appearing annually that cite the term organocatalysts in either the title or abstract since 2000. Given the potential breadth of reactions that might be catalyzed by organocatalysts it seems equally remarkable that virtually no methods for the rapid preparation and evaluation of libraries of these catalytic compounds have appeared. The ability to rapidly prepare libraries of compounds depends on the easy availability of building blocks and a predictable reliable reaction scheme. In this thesis I report on my efforts to develop and test libraries of pyrrolidine-triazole organocatalysts using the highly reliable Sandmeyer reaction to prepare the building blocks and Cu-click chemistry to prepare the catalysts.
