Description
The visual rhymes of the forms on this page suggest that Stillman was not only grouping the photographs in this album chronologically and thematically, but with an eye to composition as well. The spreading vertical lines of the trout find a parallel in those of the waterfall, and are countered by the nearly symmetrical lines of the riverscape below.
