Description
Though he inscribed this album page "Sestaione," the view is actually of the valley of the Lima River. The Sestaione, a tributary of the Lima, flows in from the hills on the right side of the photograph. The characteristic feature that permits identification of this view is the "Libro Aperto," a pair of mountain peaks at the horizon which resemble an open book.
