Description
One of the biggest mental health issues that United States military personal and veterans face is posttraumatic stress disorder. There are many effective treatment options available that are suitable for treating a range of unique symptomology, from psychosocial to pharmacological methods. Psychosocial interventions are available in both individual and couple-based formats, as well as including methods such as service dogs. In addition to these treatments, there are effective pharmacological treatments and new medicines currently being researched. However, many of those suffering from PTSD do not seek treatment, leading to long periods of time suffering from increasingly worsening symptoms. Raising awareness of options available to those who need treatment and catering to their needs is an important step in helping them receive the care they need and call attention to this issue our military faces.
