He was born at Taunton, Mass., August 16, 1783; graduated Union College, 1803, and was settled over the Congregational church in Bethlehem, N. Y., 1814. He was dismissed in 1842. He was the sixth generation in descent from Walter Deane, who emigrated from Chard, England, and settled in Taunton, New England, in 1638.
