Biographical Information

Son of Benjamin and Margaret Hopkins Cleveland of Salem, New York, was born March 3, 1779 and died at Warren, Ohio, September 3, 1854. He graduated from Middlebury College and Castleton Medical College around 1800. In the war of 1812, Dr. John Cleveland was surgeon of a Vermont Regiment and was present at the battle of Plattsburg.
