The Interdepartmental Africana Studies Program draws its faculty from the Departments of Anthropology, Dance, English, History, Modern Languages and Literatures, Music, Political Science, Religious Studies, and Sociology.

Africana Studies offers a major, interdepartmental major, and a minor that explore the history, culture, intellectual heritage and social development of people of African descent.
