Abstract

In this investigation the scattering of light by silicic acid gel-forming mixtures has been studied during the process of gel formation in an effort to extend the work already done on their structure and the mechanism of gel formation. The intensity of the scattered light has been measured by means of Fisher Nefluoro-photometer and an attempt has been made to use the results in explaining the change which the gel-forming mixtures undergo during gel formation.
